Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy / Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a talking therapy based on saying whatever is going through your mind. This helps to become aware of unconscious thoughts and feelings which influence your life. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy sessions usually lasts 50 minutes, and can vary in frequency from once weekly to four times per week. Psychoanalysis usually involves four to five sessions per week. During psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis you may be laying on a couch with your therapist sitting behind or beside you. This therapy is suitable for a wide range of emotional difficulties and is aimed at reaching very deep structures of the mind.

Daniel Zartz MSc, MBACP
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Work Focus

II offer both time-limited and open-ended psychodynamic psychotherapy with adults. My work draws on psychodynamic thinking and attends to how aspects of emotional life can remain outside awareness while continuing to shape our sense of self, our relationships, and how we respond in the present. Therapy offers a space in which these time-worn patterns can be brought into view and thoughtfully examined in the context of your current life and relationships.
